On September 29, 2008 sjkid held it's Launch Party at Market Square. Many families in the Greater Saint John Area came out to celebrate. Children enjoyed Crafts, A Magic Show, Build a Fossil, Story Time, Face Painting and Snacks. Parents visited information booths and sipped on coffee.

We would like to acknowledge and thank the following participants; Saint John Free Public Library, New Brunswick Museum. Creative Endeavours Craft Workshop, Talk With Me, District 8 "Celebrate What is Right", District 6 & 8 Transition to School Program, KV3C, Zap Magic, Public Health Early Childhood Initiatives Program. Tim Hortons, Market Square generously donated coffee and tea. Photographs were Taken By Amber McManus, Trish Manuel, and Debbie Gerow. A big thanks to all parents who volunteered at the party!
HFHCA acknowledges the Greater Saint John Understanding the Early Years (UEY) project in the development of sjkid.com. The UEY initiative, which is funded by Human Resources and Social Development Canada wanted to leave a resource to help connect families to local resources and activities.
