We are trying to figure out when to send DS to school without snowpants and boots.

Outside of school we are not wearing boots anymore. And Obviously we are not wearing snowpants as we can't go sliding or skating.

But, at school it is muddy and can get cold. When do you ditch the snowpants and boots?

Maybe wear long underwear on him, and double socks? How long are they out? I don't think it's that cold anymore, and kid's are usually running around and keep warm...

They go out in the morning for 15 minutes and in the afternoon for 20 minutes.

I would say to check what the temp. is supposed to be for the day and go by that, if it is supposed to be in the - then I would send him in snowpants and boots, but the + splash pants and rain boots.

Splash pants (lined are good), rubber boots and stretchy gloves.
Ds went to school without his snowsuit and the first day he comes home coated in mud, I will threaten him with splash pants. That should keep him out of it as I am sure they are not cool in gr 4.

We don't have splash pants. Today he chose to wear his snow pants and boots. He told me the kids without snow pants and boots can only play on the pavement. If you wear them you can play anywhere. So, he made a good choice on his own
